Basketball Battle Review

o, ho, ho, and a bottle of rum! Ahoy there me lads and lasses. Me and the crew had a basketball game this morning and me team won! Aye, we also have a court at the deck of the good old Jolly Roger. We buckos still play sports in between booty hunting. This old salt used to be a great player when I was a little lad and me skills are still there. Since we’re talking about basketball, I will share with ye me hearties an app called Basketball Battle. Batten down the hatches and let’s start.

Entertaining graphics

t’s a 2D game so unlike it’s realistic 3D counterparts, it’s graphics is more on the cartoonish side. However, it’s not a drawback because it was still gorgeously made, especially the backgrounds. There are various locations where the courts are set such as parks, inside the gym, and beach; so you will see different places. Although the game is repetitive just like a real basketball game, it’s fun to look at various settings where the game is played. The players can also be customized.

There is a left and right around on the left side of the game window that allow your player to move to the left or right. The up arrow on the right side of the game window is the jump and shoot button. It’s not complicated to learn how to play the game although it takes a bit of getting used to. It would not take much time for you to familiarize yourself with the game.

Various modes

Aside from the one on one mode where you will play with the AI, there are also other modes that make it more exciting. You can play with another player in a split screen, which is more enjoyable since you are playing with a real person. There are also live online events that you can join so you can play with various players all around the world.

Ads after every level

Basketball Battle is a free game that you can download. As you would expect, it has advertisements that can be annoying. You also have to wait for the timer before you can move on to the next level. There are levels there where you have to wait almost an hour before you can play the next one, which is a nuisance if you want to continuously play. You may skip that and speed up the process but you need to do an in-app purchase. So, you either pay or wait.  

The ups

The app is free to download and it has adorable graphics with changing backgrounds. The controls work fine and the game is easy to learn. There are also various modes including 2 players and online tournaments.

The downs

There are several advertisements and you need to wait before you can play the next level, unless you pay to make it fast.

The verdict

If you are looking for a casual basketball game app to play, Basketball Battle is an option. It has amazing graphics and it’s easy to learn. If you want a continuous game play, it may disappoint you because you need to wait between each level, unless you make an in-app purchase.
