Flap Bird Review

By Gutemberg Flappy Bird is a side-scrolling mobile game featuring 2D retro style graphics. The objective is to direct a flying bird, named "Faby",who moves continuously to the right, between sets of Mario-like pipes. If the player touches the pipes, they lose. Faby briefly flaps upward each time that the player taps the screen; if the screen is not tapped, Faby falls because of gravity; each pair of pipes that he navigates between earns the player a single point, with medals awarded for the score at the end of the game.No medal is awarded to scores less than ten. A bronze medal is given to scores between ten and twenty. In order to receive the silver medal, the player must reach twenty points. The gold medal is given to those who score at least thirty points. Players who achieve a score of forty or higher receive a platinum medal. Android devices enabled the access of world leaderboards, through Google Play. There is no variation or evolution in gameplay throughout the...
The excellent Flappy Bird battle royale game is now available for everyone   By Gutemberg Flappy Bird is a gaming legend and one of the most explosively popular mobile games ever made. But what if it were more like Fortnite ? That’s the idea behind Flappy Royale , a new game from developers Orta Therox and Em Lazer-Walker (with contributions from Zach Gage). It mashes together the endless flapping gameplay of Flappy Bird with the last-bird-standing style of the battle royale genre that’s all the rage these days. Gameplay is simple, just like it was in the original game: tap on your bird to flap and dodge your way through some suspiciously Mario-esque pipes. Except the goal isn’t to survive as long as you can; it’s to survive longer than the other 99 players, all of whom you can see flapping alongside you in real time. And because it’s a battle royale game, everyone starts out together on a bus, of course.  It’s a similar style as the recently released ...

Classic PS1 Series Monster Rancher Is Coming Back

Classic PS1 Series Monster Rancher Is Coming Back    he classic PlayStation game Monster Rancher is coming back this year, according to publisher Koei Tecmo. The Japanese company tweeted an announcement of the rerelease (via Gematsu). It also opened a teaser site under its Japanese name, Monster Farm. The phrasing implies that this will be a digital-only release, and no release plans have been announced outside Japan. Monster Rancher first released in 1997, and shares some similarities with Pokemon in that you collect monsters to battle each other. However, Monster Rancher puts much more emphasis on monster husbandry your creatures, as you selectively breed and then raise your creatures to make stronger and stronger iterations of them. One twist was that you could load data to generate a monster from any CD you might have laying around, but that aspect probably won't be present in this digital version. In GameSpot's original review, Jeff Gerstmann said the ...

Pokemon Masters Is Light On Microtransactions, Big On Battles

Pokemon Masters Is Light On Microtransactions, Big On Battles      James Max In May 2019, The Pokemon Company revealed a new Pokemon mobile game: Pokemon Masters. Developed by DeNA, which assisted on other Nintendo mobile games like Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run, Pokemon Masters is a lot more complex than you might expect. In some ways, it's like many other gacha -style mobile games, tempting you to play more with the promise of (possibly) pulling your favorite characters. But Pokemon Masters limits microtransactions to a small corner of the game, leaving room for a surprisingly involved story mode to show through. I recently played around 45 minutes of Pokemon Masters, and it's not quite a pick-up-and-play kind of game. The actual narrative part of the story mode, like a lot of Pokemon games, is not particularly complex; you're a trainer in a new region called Pasio, where Pokemon Trainers form a "Sync Pair" with one partner Pokemon, ...

Future Games Firefox

At some undetermined point in time in the future (note that they do not have a date specified) eBay is going to deploy a bot that will look at listing descriptions, and if your description is more than 800 characters, it will write its own shorter description for smart phone users. The size will be 250 characters, which is less than two twitter tweets worth of words. The bot will show that automatically generated description to buyers who are shopping on their phone.  The descriptions will be 250 characters or less — assuming an average of 6 characters per word, that’s around 41 words. Basically, one paragraph of automatically generated text. 800 characters, the threshold at which eBay says they will deploy a bot, is not a lot. It’s around 133 words, again assuming an average of 6 characters per word. In theory you can use special tags to select which 800 characters you want the bot to display in lieu of the auto-generated description, but this adds an ex...

Animaniacs Séries

Animaniacs Séries Animaniacs used a heavy musical production for an animated program, with each episode with at least one original score. The idea for an original music score in each episode came from Steven Spielberg. Animaniacs used an orchestra of 35 pieces, and seven composers were hired to write the original underline for the Run series: the use of the Great Orchestra in the modern animation of Warner Bros. began with the predecessor Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, but Spielberg pushed for its even more use in Animaniacs. Overwatch's newest hero might have a name and a face

Overwatch's newest hero might have a name and a face  James Richard   Overwatch is going through some big changes with Blizzard's recent announcement of Role Queue in Competitive, but that's not stopping it from teasing (and possibly leaking) Overwatch's next hero: Sigma. In fact, the new Role Queue is the reason we have could our first look at Sigma's face. The supposed leak came from Mexico's official team in the Overwatch World Cup. Assuming this is real, I'm sure Blizzard had a grander reveal planned than this (it even posted a fun teaser this morning where Jeff Kaplan kinda maybe dies), but that's the world we live in. Still, the cat's not completely out of the bag. We don't know what Sigma does or what the rest of their body looks like. Considering Sigma is named after math, an evil force in the universe, I'm guessing they're Talon.

It's time to stop calling videogames 'addictive,' UK trade group boss says

It's time to stop calling videogames 'addictive,' UK trade group boss says     James Richard   It risks reinforcing the belief that games are, in fact, addictive.   Calling a videogame "addictive" is usually intended as a compliment, but Jo Twist, head of the Association for UK Interactive Entertainment—better known as Ukie—sees it differently. As reported by GamesIndustry, Twist said during an address at Develop:Brighton last week that it's time to find a better way to describe games we really like to play. "People who know me know that I care about words a lot. Semantics and language matters," Twist said. "I get really annoyed when I see game reviews and they say [this game is addictive], when actually what they mean is, 'This game is really well designed, this game is good, you should play this game'." "It's not fucking addictive. We need to mind our language when we're using these words b...
