Lonely Mountains

Lonely Mountains

By Max

Knights! a three-person studio in Berlin, and our Lonely Mountains: Downhill game is finally near the finish line. We can't wait to welcome you all to our coming mountainous creation. Above all, we look forward to watching your videos and hearing your stories on how to make your way through Lonely Motains.

In lonely mountains: Downhill, it's you and your bike against a mountain. Each mountain has multiple trails, and each trail has a variety of challenges for you to accomplish. In other words - you have some work ready for you! Visit new mountains, explore new terrain and unlock new bikes with different features.

Each bike has its own advantages, so try each one to see which one fits the trail best. Some bikes are great for off-road riding, while others focus on big jumps, high falls or absolute speed. A shortcut that's great for one bike may not be the best for another! Not all mountain paths are good; so always keep an eye out (you may even find some beautiful resting points along the way). Finding the best route down the mountain is essential to reach the top of the leaderboards.

You can certainly say that Lonely Mountains: Downhill can be a demanding and unique experience. Successfully descending the mountain is one of the first steps - and worth a trophy in itself! But it gets even more fun when you start challenging yourself to do it without hitting it once. Or to learn all the right paths down the mountain to set the fastest time possible! Be sure to hit each of the checkpoints before fully exiting the road in Free Ride mode!

If all this still sounds too easy for you, you needn't worry! We decided to further increase the challenge by adding a Night Mode. To master this mode, you need to learn every corner of the trail, or the smallest pebble can become your undoing. Fortunately, your bike comes with headlights. Get ready to push the share button many times to capture all your biggest wins ... or most spectacular failures.

Have a nice walk and up the mountain!

Astroplayroom

For the longest time, the words “bundled software” was almost unanimously code for “This is probably pretty naff”. You remember Alex Kidd on the Master System? I think we can all admit at this point that it wasn’t a very good game, but it came bundled, so everyone played it. Then Wii Sports came along and changed the game. You could hand your Wii remote to your nan, and she knew how to go bowling. It prompted the system to sell gangbusters, and would go on to be one of the biggest selling games of all time thanks to its “free with console” status. While it’s unlikely that Astro’s Playroom will have your elderly relatives clamouring for another go on “That game station box thing”, Astro’s playroom is absolutely the piece of bundled software that helps show off the shiny new toy you’re about to put down £450 for, and it does so in some ways that I don’t think anyone was expecting. Astro is probably going to be a character that some people don’t recognise. A fleshed out version of o...
